On February 12th, 2026, the McLean ISD Board of Trustees voted to conduct an internal-only search for the vacancy of the position of Superintendent.  Applicants must retain a Texas Superintendent Certificate. Interested parties should contact Johnny James at johnny.james@mcleanisd.com.

McLean ISD is proud to announce that the Board of Trustees has named Eric Alston as the lone finalist for Superintendent during the April Board Meeting.

Mr. Alston has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, staff support, and community engagement. We are excited about the leadership, vision, and experience he brings to McLean ISD and the future of our district.

By state law, a 21-day waiting period is required before the Board may officially approve the superintendent contract. We look forward to this next step and are confident in the continued success of McLean ISD.
